A preventive visit is an opportunity to review your health, identify risks, and plan the screenings and follow-up that fit your needs. Our Troy office serves patients from Oakland County and welcomes people establishing care with a new primary care physician.

What we review at your visit

• Your medical and surgical history, family history, medications, and allergies.
• Blood pressure, weight, and other measurements relevant to your health.
• Cholesterol, blood sugar, and cardiovascular risk when appropriate.
• Cancer screening and vaccinations based on your age, history, and risk factors.
• Sleep, nutrition, activity, tobacco use, and your personal health goals.

Testing is individualized. A preventive visit does not mean every patient needs the same laboratory panel or imaging tests.

How to prepare

Bring your medication list, insurance information, recent test results, and records of vaccines or screenings performed elsewhere. Tell us about new symptoms when requesting your appointment so we can plan the right visit. Follow any preparation instructions provided by our office.

Which preventive visit should I request?

An annual physical and a Medicare Annual Wellness Visit are different services. A Medicare wellness visit focuses on a personalized prevention plan and is not a routine physical examination.
